Web Africa announced that CEO Matthew Tagg, who founded the company in 1997, has stepped down and the position filled by Tim Wyatt-Gunning. Wyatt-Gunning who is known best for starting and heading up Storm Telecom, first joined Web Africa in August as the company‘s new Chief Sales and Marketing officer. As he takes over the new role of CEO, Taggs will begin focussing on the company’s strategic direction while remaining the majority shareholder in the multi award winning internet service provider company.
Wyatt-Gunning has mentioned that Web Africa will continue to focus on ADSL and hosting products aimed at the small business and high-end consumer markets. He has also acknowledged that the company are paying attention to what consumers want and will be focussing on introducing new products in the near future to meet their needs.
As majority shareholder, Tagg also has intentions of setting up a globally competitive technology company in California’s Silicon Valley, home to many of the world’s largest technology companies.
