Up to R5000 cashback when you trade-in at iStore

So we are edging closer to October 24th and the official unveiling of the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in South Africa. I am sure fans from across the country are going to have their tempers and patience tested trying to get their hands on Apple’s latest smartphone. With the variety of different shops you can visit to either upgrade or purchase a new iPhone, which one is the best? Well, the South African iStore may have a very enticing offer.

The South African iStore have been running a special for the past couple of months and have recently extended the number of vouchers available. Should you want to upgrade or purchase the new iPhone before the 28th of February 2015 you can get cash back on the trade in of your old iPhone. This cashback voucher extends all the way back to the iPhone 4 but you get back different amounts for each model (see pic below)Apple_Trade3

Here is the official statement on the iStore page:

“There has been an unprecedented demand for cash back vouchers and a limited number of vouchers are still available at these high values. Get up to R5000 cashback on your previously loved iPhone for a new iPhone, only at iStore. Secure your voucher now, use it later. This offer is valid when you upgrade on any network and any contract. Securing your voucher today will ensure that you lock-in the highest return on your previously loved iPhone. Remember to bring your Apple charger and cable to secure the highest value possible.”

The steps you need to follow to get your cash back voucher (limited supply and required to qualify for cashback) is detailed in the picture below:Apple_Trade2

The trade in amount on your voucher is the amount that iStore will pay to you via EFT, when upgrading an existing cellular contract or opening a new one. Remember to bring along your cable and charger to get the maximum value stated on your voucher. If you don’t have them, you can still redeem your voucher at a reduced rate.

    • Scam?

I wonder if this is supposed to baffle your brains, the previous iPhone 5 16 gb is R9999 the new iPhone6 16 gb will be R12499, that’s a R2500 Difference, is the iphone 6 that much more expensive to make, isn’t it essentially the same thing,is this discount already factored into the price of the new phone ?

so that would then be saving at most R1500- R2500 depending on if you have a Iphone 5 or 5s.
