Mobile service provider, MTN, has recently gievn their website somewhat of a revamp. The company did this quietly though, with no official announcement made.
However, it seems the new website is rather ‘buggy’ with users having complained about new bugs since last Thursday.
Users claim that the revamped website ‘killed all the existing links’ which now results in infamous 404 ‘page not found’ errors.
Obviously, this is a huge inconvenience for MTN customers wishing to access their accounts online. Another customer complained on a MyBroadband forum, that he was also unable to check his bundle balance. This problem has sent irritation levels sky high – as one can imagine.
When navigating to the MTN website, mtn.co.za, you also hit a brick wall with a redirect loop error – as some users pointed out.
Apparently, MTN did send out SMS’s to their customers asking them to register on their ‘new’ website.Â
One MTN user commented on the MyBroadband forum that he had received an SMS asking him to register on the new website. When he clicked the link and tried to log in, however, nothing seemed to happen.
When said customer then tried to send a complaint via their website, he was once again met with frustration as, according to him, the email complaint feature has a ‘maximum length of two sentences’.
So far, there has been no comment from MTN on their new website and the trouble it is causing.
It might not be a bad idea to do some investigating, MTN – before you lose some valuable customers!
