There are many great gadgets and vehicles in movies and games, from sci-fi to action. Sometimes though, the sci-fi vehicles take the cake. As movie bikes go, the one from “˜Tron: Legacy‘ must certainly rank up there with some of the greats.
Father and son collectors Paul and Chris Andrews decided to offer up their full-scale replica of the two-wheeler from the Disney movie and it went on auction at Sotheby’s. It was expected to sell at somewhere around the $25,000 mark, but it far exceeded that.
On May 2nd, the ride, with its 96 volt electric motor with lithium batteries and a computer controlled throttle fetched a cool $77,000 at the auction. And what does the bidder receive for that price? The new owner gets a lightcycle that’s only been driven around the Andrews museum a few times to ensure it’s in full working order.
So when do we see Batman‘s bike on our roads?
