Larry Ellison: “We already know” Apple is doomed

Back when the world found out the visionary is severely sick a lot of people already asked the question: What would happen to Apple without Steve Jobs?

Larry Ellison, the CEO of Oracle, appeared on CBS This Morning, the popular breakfast show. He was asked (among other things) how he thought the computer company would fare without his friend Steve Jobs, and gave a simple, frank answer. “Well, we already know,” Ellison told Rose. “We conducted the experiment. It’s been done,” he continued. He is of course alluding to the fact that he thinks history will repeat itself, as we already saw what happened to Apple after Jobs was squeezed out of the company he created.

“We saw Apple with Steve Jobs,” said Ellison. Then “we saw Apple without Steve Jobs” and continued “We saw Apple with Steve Jobs.” “And now, we’re going to see Apple without Steve Jobs,” he ended, making it clear what he thinks of the situation over at Cupertino. Check out the snippet after the break:

I like this man, he speaks so much sense. Jobs not there anymore to save apple.

Larry who? If you compare how Apple grew over the last few years compared to Oracle; who cares what he thinks?

LOL. I bet more people than the number of people who care what you think 🙂

I am not saying he is right about Apple, necessarily, but … play the ball not the man. Man.

elude: Evade or escape from (a danger, enemy, or pursuer), typically in a skillful or cunning way: “he managed to elude his pursuer”.

allude: Suggest or call attention to indirectly; hint at.

        I apologise. Fixed, thanks.

    • He hopes someone will someday say “Oracle is doomed without Ellison”…

Well, he is the third richest man in the world, so well on him. He built a brilliant company.

as it looks now, Apple was build around Steve Jobs and Oracle not… Oracle is more vertically integrated than Apple and should therefore be a more sustainable business, except for iTunes, Apple needs to sell i-xtraordinary products continuously to be relevant… not very sustainable… and then there is Samsung
