New renders show off what the flagship Nokia 9 could look like

    Nokia 9 renders

New renders have given us a first glimpse as to what the Nokia 9 could look like, with new features such as a near bezel-less display present.

HMD Global has wasted little time in supplying us with a flurry of new Nokia phones this year in the form of the Nokia 3, 5, 6, and now 8. However, it would seem as if the Finnish brand has one last card to play in 2017, as new renders have teased the existence of a high-end Nokia 9 smartphone.

While the Nokia 8 brings with it a host of interesting features – such as a dual-camera array with Zeiss optics and Nokia Ozo recording technology – the handset includes a heavy top forehead and bottom chin that can leave the device feeling somewhat dated next to flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, LG G6, and LG V30.

Thankfully, it would seem that the Nokia 9 will bring with it a near bezel-less display similar to the Galaxy S8’s Infinity Display; designed Waqar Khan has put together a new series of renders detailing just what the handset could look like when it arrives on the market.

The Nokia 9 is rumoured to include a 13-megapixel dual camera array with Zeiss optics, in addition to 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage. The handset may further include IP68 support and an iris scanner.

For those who’ve fallen in love with Samsung’s flagships, the Nokia 9 may well steal some thunder by debuting with a glass backing and wireless charging support through the Qi standard.

Looks good, lets hope the actual device looks similar or even better. I can’t wait to see how it compares against the likes of Samsung S8, LG G6, Hauwei P10.
