iPhone 6 frame and camera details revealed

Last week was a whirlwind in the form of CES 2014. If you are a mobile fan and like the Android or Windows 8.1/Windows Phone platforms, then you are completely set at the trade show. Apple enthusiasts, on the other hand, have a lot less to look forward to.

Just because Apple is not present at CES doesn‘t mean we need to ignore them completely. Apple‘s manufacturing partners may be up to something of their own in Southeast Asia, and we‘ve just gotten our ears on news about Apple and it‘s purportedly an image of a metal frame for the iPhone 6 (below).

The first thing we notice it that it‘s big, very big. Well, at least for an Apple phone. The last rumour we heard was that the newest iPhone will be a 4.7-inch device, much larger than the current 4-inch iPhone 5. This is all rumours of course, but we won‘t be surprised if Apple drastically increases their screen size this year.

Other than that, we have rumours that the new iPhone will have no significant improvement in camera technology. They have a great camera at this stage, so it‘s not a massive issue with their 8MP lens, but they are coming under pressure from competitors that will all have at least 13 MP in their cameras in the year to come. Nokia and Sony already have 20 MP cameras in their flagships. Apple will only improve the software to improve that camera.

What do you want to see from the iPhone 6? Let us know in the comments below.

Bigger Screen like Sumsung Galaxy Note 3

Apple have been on the forefront of updating processing power. However: Camera capability and screen size is now the new driving force behind mobile phones; add to that the mindset of Apple and increase processing as always – this will equal one of the best phones yet. therefore: increase processor from 5S + 4.7Screen + 13/15MP camera = iPhone6 = Best phone on the market. and don’t forget adding iOS8 into the fray and sales of both 5S and 6 will only escalate as 5S is only 1year on market and therefore it will only entail boost Apple revenue. so a launch in June would not really be ideal as fabrication of 5S is still busy. a time frame must be established for people to gear up for 6 and then sales will only hit the roof. this is of course only my opinion. in all honesty – screen size of 4″ can stay as well as to ensure more stability until next generation as to give apple users the freedom to stay with the brand that is already well known. bigger screen is not all it is made up to be though. the bigger screen can become a nuisance for those more active and on the go

        ‘….forefront of updating processing power’….Really????
The iphone 5 still has a DUAL CORE processor. If you know anything about cpu’s, you would know that a quad core will outperfom a dual core, even if the quad core is clocked lower. Android phones have been sporting quad cores for more than 2 years now already…

I think if YOU know anything you will know that Quad Core does not always mean better performance. And Quad Core also eats more battery power.

You can always look at number of cores and clock speed – it is all about how efficiently the processor can handle instructions.

Dual core 64 bit. Handles ram and solid state data much more effectively. No one else in the mobile market is running 64 bit architecture. Makes a massive difference tbh

Chipsets made by Samsung and Cameras by Sony!

    • Peter Mansor

Not doubt about it, it all has to be about Battery life from now on. When we can have four days without re-charging is going to be the next big step. Cameras, processors etc are all good but battery power lagging far behind other developments.

I would like to see a lazer beam measuring system.

I have to agree with Schalk on this, when looking at bench marks on the A6(Apple’s cpu), it outperforms the other chips sets in many fields. Maybe cause apple designs their own cores as opposed to just taking the generic arm chips….

“The iPhone 5′s $449.99 at Amazon benchmarks have two standout features: The A6 is clocked very low (just 1GHz, versus the 1.4-1.5GHz chips in most other smartphones), and its memory performance is out of this world. Compared to the 4S (Cortex-A9), the iPhone 5 has somewhere in the region of 3 to 5 times better memory performance. Even compared to a newer chip, such as the Snapdragon S4, the A6 is still almost twice as fast.”

But for apple fans this is nothing new, on paper their rivals, from smart phones to tablets to pc’s, always show better specs, but in reality apple’s fusion of hardware&software outperforms, but hey thats what we have come to expect

The same could be said for pc’s vs mac’s, the mbp’s performance and battery life outperforms everything in its class… People feel that apple products are a rip off cause they are more expensive, but looking at design and quality of hardware and the performance and COST of the software (please note that apple OS’s are free) …

I feel it is the major japanese companies that are selling the big spec’s without caring too much about performance and battery life & design (come on a plastic “body” for a R30k laptop ???) – The same could be said for the camera hype, selling of 20mp camera’s in phones as a “this is a better smartphone”… I guess its all dependant on what you want battery life, performance ,design, memory consumption … the amount of times your device hangs /freezes … And oh yeah a 20mb camera … :/
