More and more traditional watch makers are now getting into the smartwatch game. Whether it is a reactionary move to many technology companies encroaching on their territory or them just not wanting to be left out in the cold is unknown, but they also think they have something unique to offer.
As traditional mechanical watch manufacturers, these companies believe they have the expertise to make a beautifully crafted timepiece, with the added benefit of being a smartwatch as well. A couple of weeks ago, TAG Heuer unveiled their classy smartwatch, albeit at an eye watering price.
Now, Fossil have followed suit and announced their smartwatch offering, called the Q Founder. The company‘s first Android Wear smartwatch is now available on their website for $295.
Very much like the Moto 360, they have decided not to go with the fully round display, and instead opted to keep a “flat tire” at the bottom of the display.
Other than that it is pretty standard Android Wear fare, where the Q Founder has built-in activity tracking to let you track your steps, count calories and all of that good stuff. It is also dust- and waterproof, with an estimated battery life of around 24 hours.
Does this Android Wear smartwatch make you any more excited about the market segment than any other? Let us know in the comments below.
